Make sure your speakers are fairly easy to drive, as this amp in my direct experience lacks a bit of drive. Used to own one, but got rid of it for a VK75 which has drive in spades.

Unless he has the original packing, which according to the ad he doesn't I would walk on by. The VK60 and VK75 are huge amplifiers in terms of depth and they are very heavy in an awkward way - because of the shape. The VK55 is a compact design, very neat and manageable, but sadly it just doesn't have a lot of drive/current delivery and thus just does not come across like a 55 watt design.

That was my experience of it and I wanted it to work but it didn't for me. If you have sensitive speakers and mine are not crazy hard to drive then you should be ok but if they need current or tight control then I really feel the VK55 isn't the amp for you.

I hate saying all that, because I like BAT designs as you can see from my sig I own a few.
