Got a stock of the Carbon, Bias-2, Elys-2.

If it's for "occasional use" and you want loads of get up and go, it's the Carbon.

Yeah...it's a bit like the audio technica at91.....surprisingly good for the money..although can be a little bright ...but excellet value for £26.00..in fact if you want to try a budget cart...you won't go wrong with the audio technica at91...again plenty on the bay for £18.00

Carbon a little bright? I'd say neutral if a touch on the raw side in all honesty.

I've ordered a Dual DN251E stylus (Jico made?) via the William Thakker webshop on eBay. This was originally a custom AT stylus for this AT91 generic body and as well as having a dark colour to the housing, there's also a flip-down stylus guard too. Downside is the cost, which isn't far off the Carbon/AT91 complete price once carriage is taken into account.

As for the UK made models, my jury is still out on the lower ones unless we-re discussing the Exact, which is a clear huge step up from the Elys and Bias models. I love the Apheta too, accepting it's a rather raw sound, which I prefer to the flattened and bland sound of some older Top End cartridges with a rich and rather plodding quality - to me anyway :)
