This is a quick shot of my finished music room that I share with my partner Sue. We have a huge passion for Prog Rock and Brand X type jazz as well as all things Ozric Tentacles and electronic. My Project RPM-4 has been quite heavily modded but retains its standard arm and is fitted with an Ortofon 520 cartridge as a stopgap until I can afford a Sumiko BPS and the Sony CD player will do until I can afford a Bushmaster DAC. Amplification is Rotel RC850 preamplifier into two bridged RB850 power amplifiers and loudspeakers are KEF Q500's. The room was painted in Dulux Apple White with matt white trim all around for a nice relaxing experience but in spite of that I still prefer to listen in darkness.

I guess an olive green carpet would really set it off but the property is rented and the carpets came fitted.

How do your speakers behave?

I've heard they take a lot of power to really sing. They look cool!

You could well be right in what you say as I was using them with an EL84 powered valve amplifier and it wasn't until I swapped back to transistors that they appeared to really come to life. They seem to thrive on the extra dynamics of a high powered amplifier.
