Getting ready to upgrade my old VPI 19 mk3 / Morch DP6

Hello,
This is my first time posting on the forums.
I have had a VPI 19 MK3 with Morch DP6 arm for 18 years.
I currently have a Audio Technica MM cartridge and I would like to upgrade to an affordable MC high output cartridge.

There are also many different turntables that I am currenltly studying, since I am wondering if the Morch would work better on a new turtables design.

I would greatly appreciate any recommendations the members could provide.

Hello Mike and welcome to AoS. What a lovely vinyl front end you have, the VPI and Morch sound like keepers to me. If you like the AT sound but want more, then I recommend something like an AT33PTG or AT33E with a Bob's Devices step-up transformer. Good value and won't completely break the bank.

that is a big question. why do you want to change the tt? what do you think it lacks? what options do you have? its really hard commenting about a deck that is not known. looks pretty. built like a battleship. only review I could find suggests it sounds pretty good too. give us a bit more to go on

There a lot you could do to the VPI
You could change to a Superscoutmaster plinth get the SDS controller, use a HD platter etc. Why not speak to VPI they are very helpful The 19 is a really good turntable and quite upgradeable
