The mod was done by Stans fair hand and I doubt that it has even reached its full capability as I have hardly used it since - i no longer had the usb to spdif box of tricks. The headphone is optimised to run with Grado headphones.

This is a great dac , especially for the money. I am selling because I thought that utilising something that used I2S instead of spdif might be better and I wanted to biuld something myself. So this is surplus to requirements.

Looking for £170 plus postage. Would prefer bank transfer or reluctantly paypal gift.

Here's what the internals look like.

It's a great DAC with the Venom mod. I am willing to adjust the headphone output for any alternative headphones for any prospective buyer, as long as you cover the cost of return postage and a couple of cold drinks.

But I am not so sure about the direct I2S connection Jonny. There is no jitter correction in that method, which leaves you at the mercy of the accuracy of the master clock. The BM can be modified to accept I2S by the way, but you have to figure out how to add a I2S socket so that you can run a cable from the source to the DAC.

can't argue with you on a technical level. what i have got now is better and i enjoyed making it though the usb/spdif-bushmaster combo was pretty close and i would be curious to hear the usb/spdif card version of my current iteration with the bushmaster. i was lucky in that i had a good power supply (which i am using with the new gear) but for the money it is on a par with my new dac as best bang for buck. easily.
