Hi guys for sale is my Goldring IGC MM cart, I bought it from Sensei (Dave) back in April or May but I've hardly used it because I thought it was faulty.
When I put the cart on my TT and played it through my A&R A60 amp's phono stage the output of the cart was really quiet compared to my then current cart, a Denon DL-110.
The Denon has an output of 1.6 MV but according to the vinyl engine site (link below) the Goldring's output is 5 MV but with the A&R amp's onboard phono stage the Goldring cart was really quiet so I had to crank the volume up to use it but that wasn't ideal as you can imagine especially when changing output to, say, the CD player so I basically stopped using it and Dave kindly offered to take it back once his funds would allow.
Anyway I've since managed to get a Graham Slee Gram Amp 2 SE phono stage on loan and thought I would try out the Goldring again and it sounds absolutely fine played through one of the line inputs of the A&R A 60, compared to my two other carts, an SAE 1000LT & A&R P77.
In fact it sounds fantastic but I prefer the SAE cart so both the Goldring and the A&R P77 are for sale.
Clearly my amp's phono stage either doesn't get on with the Goldring or the phono stage is faulty in the amp, either way the Goldring is absolutely fine but if anyone is concerned I'm more than happy to send it out sale or return.
Regarding the Goldring I paid £75 posted so would like that back (postage to a UK postcode) but I am open to sensible offers and regarding the A&R P77 I would like £40 and also inc posted to a UK postcode.
I'm more than happy to post these abroad but international buyers will have to pay the additional postage and insurance if they require it.
Payment by BACs or PPG or cash on collection from Glasgow.
Please PM offers, thanks.
