Braun hifi and radio stuff is beautiful and well made. It holds its value well (and not necessarily with audiophiles - look on Google and German eBay) because most was well designed. The funketeers who dwell in Bermondsey and Clerkenwell lofts in white polo necks and pony tails worship the stuff.

The reason: It was designed by Dieter Rams who also designed the iconic Vitsoe shelving system and those rather funky Braun table lighters as well as some rather groovy calculators. Upshot - very expensive and far from pishanto (unless you are very lucky).

Dunno, but it looks very 1967 to me.

Braun were I believe the first manufacturer to use soft dome drive units in mass produced speakers. I remember the stir they caused when they came out about 1970 (giving my age away again). The Braun Hi-Fi back then was exquisitely made and other makes looked like they'd been built in sheds in comparison. SABA and Grundig were also turning out lovely stuff.

Maybe i'm being a bit tough. It's a Heathkit 'AA151'
