In my eternal quest for betterdom and an eventual upgrade path to a decent Sansui amplifier, I swopped an old pair of speakers I was trying to sell for a Marantz PM7000 amplifier. The intention was to sell it on but I ended up doing the fatal thing and trialled it for a week and I actually quite like it. :doh:
Does anyone know if this is a good amp and what it might have cost new?
It's built like a tank and I believe it got some sort of recognition as European amp of the year around 2000/2001.
I'm toying with keeping it over my 12 month old Yamaha A-S500 but not sure if I want to take the inevitable financial hit on the Yammie plus
the Yamaha should (in theory) provide at least 10yrs trouble free use whereas the Marantz is already around 10-12yrs old.
