Have you ever tried centralising the Tannoy HF coil using the battery trick?

This is where you use a low voltage battery to pass DC through the coil which generates enough flux to centre the coil with an even gap postioning.

I tried it with my Acoustic Research re-foaming job (http://theartofsound.net/forum/showthread.php?17353). It worked really well. ~It was James ( istari_knight) who first mentioned it on AoS, I think.
