Congratulations Andrew.
I hesitate to tell you what a talented and highly educated Canadian engineer who I once worked with used to say about degrees:

BS - we all know what BS stands for - so you know some bullshit
MS - well that's just more of it
PhD - piled high and deep!

Yep, I didn't mean to take anything away from the huge effort and commitment involved in this.

Well done. My stepson just got his results and his mum bought 4 ribeyes and a couple of bottles of Shiraz for a celebration dinner. Get to the butchers!

Well done Andrew. I hope it helps you on. What did you study?

Disregard someone else's definition of PhD. "Everyone" knows it stands for Public House Drinker.

Andrew,

Well done.

It must be nice to have it behind you and the summer free to do other things.

You'll probably spend a few days waking up and feeling guilty that you are not working on the degree before you remind yourself it's all done!

Ta. It's in English Literature. My science education ended dramatically when I recorded the lowest-ever mark at my school in my Physics mock O-level.

Don't most MA's get polished off in one or two years? My brother managed to get his MA in a year, mine took three to complete.

Can be done in a year if full-time; mine is planned to be done in two years part-time. My wife took three years to do hers because of health problems.
