I've been playing with mono cartridges for a while as everyone knows, having had mono SPUs, Lyras, ATs, Denons and a few vintage ones. Perhaps the best-respected monos around are the Miyajima mono rage, born out of their creator's passion for all things mono. Most manufacturers make mono as an afterthought, but mono is central to Miyajima-san's vision and are his principle passion.

I owned the lowest model Moyajima Kotetu before, and recently upgraded to the Spirit (which has seen off a clutch of mono SPUs of various flavours). As luck would have it the top of the line Premium BE became available ex-dem after only a brief period with the Spirit and I just had to grab it. So the Miyajima Spirit mono is up for sale.

Healthy 0.7mv output, 6 ohm so works nicely into a 3-12ohm low impedance SUT or into a MC phono stage direct at 100 ohm. (An easy match in other words).

It has no more than 20 hours on it and is in pristine condition. The brass finish is lovely and it's quite heavy at over 10g, also needs a fairly hefty headshell - definitely at the low compliance end of things. It's the same design as the Premium BE but in brass, rather than wood.

Anyway these are £545 new in UK from Angelsound I'm offering this for £300 including special delivery. Fantastic opportunity to enjoy mono as it should sound.

BTW if anyone is looking for the perfect 'second' tonearm for this I have the perfect one, a Denon DA-305, designed for the similarly low-compliance DL103, spindle to arm distance 230mm the same as a host of Japanese arms including the FR64, a snip at £150.
