I keep getting a message telling me I can't get access. Is this a problem your end or mine?? It happens on about 50% of the times I try. I have tried with four different browsers, all the same

Gordon - we're all having problems and Nick (Beechwoods) is on the case with our internet service provider. Hopefully normal services will be resumed soon.

We had a memory issue which should now have been cleared by a server restart.

We are monitoring the issue for any recurrence.

Thanks.

I am still getting refused access with FORBIDDEN notices with many threads.and some browsers are still not working with it.

Beechwoods

You are right. I'm not sure if the restart has occurred yet. I'm awaiting a call / confirmation from our server hosts on the status of the fix.

It is OK now as of 1020.

There were less frequent Forbidden errors over the last few days if you hadn't picked up on them.

Also style sheet/layout going awry

Best for sorting it.

Let us know in the future if you see them again. It's a sign memory is getting low. Need to get to the bottom of why.

Just received a warning about a programme wanting to access my computer.

Are you guys (the AoS moderation team) sure that one of you does not have an infected PC? This is the only site I visit that regularly pops up with AVG warnings etc.

Beechwoods

Mine is the only one with access to the server. I have two Macs both of which have been scanned for virii and verified clean using Sophos Antivirus for Mac. I don't think this stuff came from me.

The 'Forbidden' notice was the result of a memory leak on a server process which has now been resolved.

We're on it guys, so bear with us. Clearly, there's an underlying issue that needs properly sorted. Full update as soon as we have any info, and my apologies for the inconvenience.

Got the 'frame insert' virus warning again this morning. I've only ever seen this when visiting AoS and it's very random when it happens.

Running very slow at the minute with data blocks missing and then coming right after a lag of maybe 10 seconds or so.

Just had a 'Trojan removed' warning when I clicked on a thread.

I suppose it doesn't matter if it was 'removed' ?

Marco

Yes, it does, because you never killed it, and it's going to bite you on your bottee in bed later tonight! Be afraid, be very afraid...... :eyebrows:

AoS is denied again on work system. Happened over weekend. On my Mac Book Pro McAffee I've had to manually exclude AoS.

Alan - could you give us an idea of which system or blacklist is denying us please?

Bluecoat categorised suspicious.

Thanks. That's a website filter package rather than a blacklist provider like Spamhaus. I wonder if they provide their own lists?

Internet Explorer booted me off AoS this morning 'to protect your computer' (Windows IE7, Norton anti-virus software).

I had the site checked tonight with comodo web inspector and it came up clean....so it is still that Russian site that is causing the blacklist.(see other thread)

I have a red McAfee warning on each thread I click on and a 'trojan removed' notification 30 minutes ago.

When I go to post a reply I get a notice saying I'm not logged in (when obvious I am, otherwise I couldn't have replied).

It's pure luck if a reply gets posted. Getting a bit cheesed off.

Please be aware that I am working with experts outside of the team to get to the bottom of the 'Malware' warnings you users have been reporting. The initial feedback I have had is that the forum is not serving malware, but that certain AntiVirus software may be false-positive matching legitimate code to one of their malware signatures. It looks like we are going to have to try and navigate the tortuous appeals and review processes at these organisations.

I just wanted to update you with where we are on this, and say I appreciate your patience and loyalty while we get this sorted.

Stephen,

You probably aren't actually logged in. I enabled the facility to Reply to a Thread while logged out, so people who had forgotten to log in could post - when they do this they are prompted to log in after hitting 'Post Reply'. Make sure you tick the 'keep me logged in' or 'remember me' buttons when you do log in and the site will ensure you aren't bugged to log in everytime you come back.

Mr Kipling

Thanks Nick.

I have actually tried logging in 3 times or so and still have had the notice that I'm not after going to post a reply. I don't know if it's the browser (Opera) in my mobile.

I'm on a roll tonight! Eveything's getting through! Might bore the pants off everyone!

Use Tapatalk if you can - much easier. I find Google Chrome for iPhone also logs me off randomly sometimes, not just here, other forums as well. Must be some kind of 'security' feature. Glad it's working for you today.

Stephen, I don't know what mobile you have but Tapatalk or an equivalent app like Board Express is worth having as they are highly forum focussed and always keep you logged in.

I just have an old Nokia 5800 and I don't know if Taptalk would work. The native browser is just too painfully slow. The Opera and UC browsers are pretty zippy by comparison.
