Thinking Cambridge 640 or a battery Angle.

However all other suggestions considered up to £150 spend.

Put the money into an SAE 1000E or LT Liam.

You will not be disappointed!

I'm playing it through the phono stage of an A&R A60 integrated and it is stunning.

There is a Graham Slee Gram Amp 2 Communicator MM Phono Stage for sale on the bay at about that price.

The 640P is a good bet at budget money, it was always a bargain and turns in a surprisingly good sound. Under £150, I can't think of anything that sounds better (or as good?). It is seriously upgradeable too, there are features on this here on AOS. I've used many phono stages and to me the Cambridge stands out as the one very affordable unit that I'd use.

Cheaper phono stages can sound lightweight or coarse, the 640P is neither, it just lacks the last bit of resolution compared to dearer units, but sounds musical all the same.

After a bottle of red, maybe somewhat rashly, I've ordered a Yaqin 22B.

So far, been impressed by my 'chi-fi' purchases. Previously had the Dussun phono stage (not Xindak as stated in my Technics thread, they're my balanced xlr's) and it was great combined with my Funk Vector, DL103, Origin Live RB300 and Jungson JA 88D. Hopefully this will work out as well.
