Audionote AN/K AN/J LX ( high effiency) speaker tryout

Following on from my Little Red Monitor thread, tomorrow l am having a home dem of some Audionote AN/K, and AN/J LX:D as l want to make use of the space in my little den and my Sensation T-amp could do with some help in the effiency department, so it will be interesting to see how they compare to the Harbs, have spoken also to Colin at Toppsounds and will be listening to these at home in around three weeks time:)So interesting times at Tarzan Towers, will post my findings tomorrow if anyone is interested:lol:

With t-amps / class-D, I find that speaker synergy is crucial - and AN speakers have a very different approach to music making than Harbies, to say the least! :lol:

I bet the Harbies will be more natural but the ANs will be more fun. ;)

Yep, I can well imagine the "clean" sound of the t-amp to be an interesting match with the funky AN's :)

The AN J/K's, along with Snell J/K's are amongst my all time favourite stand mounters. I have to agree with Jerry. The Harbs might be more neutral but I know which I prefer when it comes to making music...

Saying that Paul, l have a pair of Tannoy Mercury M20 l got from E-bay,l am playing now and they sound sooooooo musical, they show the Harbs one or two little tricks, they really are something.:)

Turnberrys are a good loudspeaker Any but I've found that they prefer larger room sizes to breath. They can get a little over bearing in smaller rooms and need very clean amplification (read SS) or a very good valve amp. Expensive for what they are though unless you can get a decent discount. Having owned them and Harbs, I can't say I'd be overly fussed about returning to either after having the Fidelios in the system now ;)

The beauty about the ANs or Snells is that they can be had for very reasonable sums and in small to medium rooms they're hugely entertaining and not too amp/system fussy either.

I've always liked the Snell J II Or Audionote ANJ's. Very nice speakers! Someday, perhaps I'll look out for some Snell K's.
