Living Spaces

I was looking at some house decor tonight, i noticed these days that people seem to like large living areas with sparce almost bare layout, not even a carpet! i personally think they look very cold & uncomfortable..

I don't like big rooms nor do i like sparce arrangements. i like small rooms with lots of things around me & of course thick carpets & most importantly colours such as deep red & orange..it's all cuddly see :eyebrows: ..However I have mentle issues with clutter, my clutter is very symmetrically laid out :lol: , everything is in uniform neatness etc etc.

Never likely to happen André, but if I ever got the chance to design my own home, it would be like this;

Very rough and not to scale - large open central living area with everything in it, single level with high vaulted ceiling. Two French doors at the rear which are either side of a large fireplace, the French doors lead out to a deck which runs the entire width of the rear aspect, over looking a large laid to lawn garden - preferably on the side of a hill with views! Two en-suite large bedrooms off the central area. To the right of the kitchen would be a large double garage with a utility area walkway from the rear of the kitchen to the garage. Top right (the squiggle) is a spiral staircase leading to a large area covering the entire top of the double garage. There would be an office area at the top of the staircase and the large room above the garage is a home cinema :D

I'm the exact opposite, I like very large open areas and not much clutter, but I don't like sparse - I have a lot of nice things collected from my travels around the world, I just don't have a good space to put them in :scratch:
