My vintage Toshiba tuner tuning knob is the best knob I've ever held in my hand ...

Nice!
I wonder who here, way back when as a teenager perhaps, has selected a cassette deck mainly based on the amount of damping applied during the opening action of the cassette door?

The best knob I have ever played with was on my Yarland Pro 200 SE 300B amplifier. It is of course a shame that the electronics didn't match the quality of the spun aluminium protuberance.

That will be me then. I hate cassette eject mechanisms which are so violent they all but throw a cassette at you. Lazy design in my book ;)

I don't like small fiddly knobs, I prefer a decent size. And kept nice and clean.

The knobs on the Levinson ML26 and 28 preamps have the most wonderful silky smooth feel. They can be easily moved buy the lightest touch of one's little finger.

But, of course, this has nothing to do with the knobs themselves, it is entirely due to the quality of the potentiometer used. In the case of Levinson gear they are either Bournes or Penny and Giles products.
