Found a flight case full of 6SN7s,
some GTBs, some GTAs, metal base 6n8p,5692s,
most used some nos.

18 pairs, two triples (one of nos boxed sylvania) and 13 singles. All of these were bought as testing good and being an untrusting soul,
were fully tested on a borrowed tester before being put away in the cupboard.

Most were checked for noise when I had amps that used 6SN7s, all those that looked fine on the tester were checked for shorts, any that looked dodgy were binned.
Good on the tester (EMC model 213) ranged from 29 to 50 and most of these measured in the mid 40s.

I'd rather sell as a lot as I don't have time to faff around posting pairs.
It's rather a long list with all the test results but if it doesn't annoy anyone, I'll post it here.

In the meantime I can mail the list to any interested parties.
I don't like to think what they cost and have no time or inclination to research what they're worth.... so will consider reasonable offers
Will post photos manyana.
If anyone wants to nip ma heed re price, then be real clever & suggest one:-) I don't know , hence the asking for offers!

Hi Simon,

Sounds great, but if I were you, in order to help your sale along, I'd post some pictures of the valves in question. A group shot (close up) of the lot, placed say, on the floor, would be fine, or perhaps close up shots of some samples of what you've got, including any original boxes...

I know that, when I buy valves, I like to see pictures of what I'm getting. If you do that, I think you'll more likely get some sensible offers :)

Good luck!

Marco.

Excellent stuff, Si. You've got some nice valves there, and matched pairs, too! The 'dark horses' amongst them are the CBS tubes... Not many people know that Japan also produced valves, and so not many will know how good these tubes sound! ;)

You've definitely got a nice collection of stuff there, and so deserve to get a good offer for it. If you don't manage to sell them as a job lot, I'd price the valves up as pairs, and if you do, I'm sure you'll sell a few! :exactly:

Marco.
