Power supply for a T-amp

Ebay has provided me with an Altai regulated power supply for my SMSL SAS3 t-amp. It's a weighty thing pushing out 6 amps. All the capacitors are by Jougey and the big ones are 2200uF. I will connect it to a Ripple Eater which might fit in the case.

Yes. The amp is able to accept 14v and I have been using a 12v 3 amp smps up to now. I didn't want to spend loads as the amp, good as it is, was only about £25. Hopefully this will give a little more juice and be quieter than the smps.

Really good Ali. Improved sq all round and it's changed the soundstage which will mean me messing with the speaker positions a bit. Not added the Ripple Eater yet. It may not make much difference at the output is well controlled I think.
I reckon if you put a fancy cable on it you could sell it for £150. Used to be on a CB rig.

Thats good to know Jerry, I still have the Maplins's CB Radio regulated supply StanB recommended for the Caiman kicking around...

Is it a MiniT you have Jerry...?
If not my amp might not be able to take that voltage.
That said there's an adjustable Pot in the supply to turn it down a bit.

Mine is an SMSL SA-S3 Gaz. It says 14v on the back so I would check that yours can accept the higher voltage.

silly question perhaps - How do you connect it to the t-Amp? I thought that they have different connectors, inc a pair of speaker banana-like connectors?

Centre of DC socket goes to +ve and outer to -ve.

I thought someone was thinking of cranking up higher. I don't quite see how that could work, though, given the voltages and likely impedances.
