KAB bottom plate for stock arm

Hi,

I was having a look at the various upgrades available for the techie from KAB:

Doing a rewire of the arm appeals to me, and the KAB Cardas DIN bottom plate looks to be a great solution to replacing the phono PCB.

Has anyone tried this as a techie upgrade?

Never tried it Nathan but why have a connector at all?
Just wire from the cartridge straight to your phono stage in one continuous run.
Every connection and joint in the signal path has the potential to degrade the signal.
I've started wiring all my arms this way using Cardas screened cable. I strip back the coax shielding for the length in the arm tube and attach the black drain lead from the arm/headshell to the coax as it exits the arm. I then ground the other end of the coax to the grounding post on the Phono stage.
Simply tie down the cable near the base of the arm with a couple of cable ties or a "P" clip to act as a strain relief. I use the "Chuck" type of Phono plugs that tighten on to the socket for a good connection but are easy to release when needed.
It's one way of doing it.
Done three this way and never had any problems with hum. They run very quite and perform realy well.
