Nice bit of bling there Hugo, looking good.

I have a bit of a poor man's coffee maker in comparison, hand grinder, fresh beans, a kettle, Aeropress and elbow grease - all rather lo' tech, but still good coffee at the end of it.

Maybe if I win the lottery Hugo ;)

Nice, unfortunately I don't have the space for more gadgets nor the patience to make real coffee often, bugger.

Oh, come on! This is far more tasteful design than anything Chord have produced! On top of that, it is designed to produce very tasteful and tasty coffee.

Nothing wrong with a good hand-job Tim! :eyebrows:

I've tried them all and when it comes down to it, the traditional Italian machine is the one for me. Only makes 'proper' coffee though, none of this latte, cappuccino etc rubbish:)

We have a big kitchen but I'm not sure we could fit your coffee machine in anywhere:stalks:

Yep, Chord design is like marmite... unfortunately the looks of their kit is enough to send me running from it, even if it could turn out a nice tune and make a cuppa!

Now I'm really feeling like the poor cousin with my hand grinder and aero-press

Mind you, I really love the whole manual process, its like a ceremony for me. Precisely weighing and then slowly grinding the fresh beans, boiling the water and letting it sit till it reaches the right temp, warming the cup and then pressing the coffee - it seems to enhance the whole experience of drinking coffee.

Great machines mind you ;)

Try Cascara (http://www.hasbean.co.uk/collections/cascara/products/bolivia-finca-illimani-cascara). No piddly tea leaves to deal with and it tastes fab. It is the dried coffee fruit that holds the bean. It has caffeine in it. Really nice - hard to see why it isn't more commonly used.

Get yer coffee from there too.
