A guy called flinx was selling a set of Minstrels with a slight veneer lifting issue for £100 on Hifi Wigwam.

I'd like to say I'd have a look/listen but I can't afford them...my budget is sub £200.

Hi Selby. This link is a great resource for info on Royd speakers.

The Rega Ela sounds interesting...anyone recommend them?

Yeah, I have a pair that are very good indeed. Room positioning isn't critical, although I find I can tune the bass dependent where I have them in relation to the back wall.

Rega Ela is a great speaker and very similar to the Apex. Prior's are rare and probably over your budget. A pair recently sold on PFM for about £250 though, so not too far out. There is another I will suggest for your wanted list, the Rega xel.
I have had most of the Royd speakers. Infact one of the pairs of Prior's on the Royd site were mine, pictured for selling about 5 or 6 years back. My fave though is the abbot. Very lucid and flowing sound, makes great music and doesn't have the shortcomings of the smaller driver models. Not as amp fussy either. Minstrels are a bit hit and miss. Great in the right room, horrible if not, and the side firing port can chuff making the bass intolerable.

Abbots would be my ideal choice...finding a pair seems tricky though! I'd stretch my budget for them though...
