Hi all,

I have a really fine example of this fine workhorse. unlike the LP12, it seems to hold its settings. Newish belt, and fitted with a well set-up LVX Plus, it currently plays with the help of AT-F3/OCC (mc) which is not for sale (just yet).

I'm asking £165 and the deck to be collected, it's just too heavy and with a fragile perspex lid to travel any other way. The lid is actually OK, with one or two noticeable scratches, but the rest is fine. Woodwork is par for the age.

I'll add some photos as soon as I can upload, or look it up on eBay (same price for Buy Now). I rather not mention the reason for sale, you won't believe it.

Anybody interested, PM me.

With regards,
Mike

That's an uncommonly nice coffee table you have there, Mike! Oh, and good luck with the sale :). ('Er indoors would kill me if I bought another TT . . .)

Thanks,

I like the table too. My wife on the other hand doesn't much care for 20-odd turntables I have amassed so, here they go - one by one.

Regards,
Mike

Lovely turntable, Mike! Honestly, someone should snap this up ASAP, as the RD80 is way better than many turntables made these days - a veritable example of high SPPV. So, folks, if you're looking for a nice vintage T/T that looks and sounds fab, then this is it...

Get yer wallets out and snaffle it up before someone else does who realises how much of bargain this is, sonically! :exactly:

Marco.

Thank you Marco,

I could not have said it better myself. It didn't look anything like it when I picked it up of course.
It has been set up with an Audio Technica AT-F3/OCC (mc) cartridge which, much to my surprise, worked quite well with the LVX Plus arm.

Mike

Yup, the Artison decks always worked well with Linn arms. I had an LV V on my RD11S (with a Denon DL103 fitted) and it sounded superb. I'd really be very surprised if no-one snaps up your lovely T/T!

Btw, I've tidied up your pics and removed the unnecessary URL links and spaced things out a bit. Looks better now :)

Marco.

Ive had most the Ariston decks, all good uns, my fav was the 'RD110', i did like the 'RD11 Superior' a lot (Don't confuse with the 'RD11S' not the same)

All,

This deck has now been sold. Unfortunately, I couldn't close the auction fast enough and it eventually went to a bidder on eBay.
My apology to an AOS Member who made an offer to buy.

With regards,
Mike

Thanks André,

But I do try whenever possible to keep the good stuff in the family, as it were.

What of the cartridge? The buyer wants to buy my AT-F3/OCC which is currently on the LVX Plus. I'm discouraging him and suggesting something a bit less expensive to start with. But, for a used AT-F3/OCC in good condition, maybe £85 is not that much? I don't have any experience of this cartridge from the past but this sample sounds really good, maybe a little edgy at times, but that depends on how challenging the recording is.

I'm tracking at the max. 1.75g allowed. Any suggestions?
Marco??

With regards,
Mike
