Hi Guys I thought I would share a couple of pics I took the other day, my other hobby 1970s action man:)

Excellent - I had five Action Men of various types and (what I later found out to be) a Tommy Gun when I was a lad.
I also had a Scorpion tank and a Landrover.

I only had one toy when I was a kid:(
Mind you, it was an Airfix slot racing game. Talk about one track (two lanes though). All I did from the age of 13 to around 23 was slot racing. I still have the cars upstairs. As soon as I could drive a real car, it was a different town every weekend racing. Great life for a teenager, even went the the States to race the things. We are talking proper cars though, not these plastic things with magnets, solid brass chassis and motors that did 60,000rpm - bloody quick (and he says modestly - so was I:eyebrows:).
Sadly, there came a time when the hormones defeated even my fastest car and there was this woman............childhood ended.
Pic of some cars attached. I've been clearing up in the loft so the box was out. There is another layer of cars under the plastic. My wife and I still intend to build a decent track afore we go.:)
I had a scalectrix when I was young.....cost parents an arm and leg.....think it was about £9. told it was Xmas and birthday for 2 years.....
had a blue Merc convertible and a BRG wee sports car which I loved but cannot remember the name now....old age I'm afraid.
played with it till the engines blew....those were the days my friend!

Old age doesn't stop me wanting to play with it all again:) Trouble is, there seem to be so many items in our list before a new track. I keep trying to rearrange the list but it seems to have a magic system whereby the bits I want to do keep sinking to the bottom:(

PS. the other motor was an Austin Healey.

Couldn't resist getting them out and have a pretend play. There are only about ten or so of the original proper cars in there but over the years I have collected a few toys (as opposed to professional sports racers you understand:eyebrows:) intending to convert them to run on proper tracks - magnets are cheating - in due course.
I wonder if I will ever get the time! Maybe in my eighties, there is an ever growing version of that list I mentioned:rolleyes:
The 70s were past the end of my childhood, the last open meeting I won was in 1971 and I got married in 1971 too at 24 years of age. If only we had had digital cameras back then, it would be nice to have the sort of records that are so easily achieved nowadays. Just have the memories now.
All the family photo albums are stuck in my sister's loft in Cheshire. I have asked for them to be got to me somehow so I can digitise them so the whole family can enjoy them but no luck so far.
Lol... Do they still go 'VROOM, VROOM', when you move them up and down? :eyebrows:
