Looking for HD camcorder

I currently use a Canon digital camcorder, which uses Mini DV tapes. It works a treat but is a pain getting it onto a PC for editing and backup to DVD. I'm thinking about getting something up to date that uses memory cards for storage and is a bit easier to deal with. 1080 HD would also be a bonus.

I'm after some advice from those who are using the latest HD camcorders. pretty-please? :)

I bought a Panasonic HDC-SD9EB-S with a Leica lens (http://www.amazon.co.uk/Panasonic-HDC-SD9EB-S-HD-Camcorder/dp/B0013XWY52/ref=sr_1_1?ie=UTF8&qid=1370106117&sr=8-1&keywords=panasonic+hd+camcorder) - cost quite a bit 4.5 years ago, but it looks like the current ones with Leica lens are still a lot.

£150 for a second-hand HDC-SD9EB-S on Amazon prime is a bargain, IMO - I love mine.
