Hi everyone,

(Please bear with my spelling mistakes as im typing with my ipad - this onscreen keyboard is horrible!)

I love music, and though Im not a fan of huge massive concerts, I trully enjoy smaller venues. This is my benchmark, and when I play the tons of cds and lps I have at home I seek the emotion and foot taping feeling I get with live music.

The moment I start using too many hifi adjectives to describe a system it usually means it doesn't really make it for me....

As a general rule, I tend to play with valves and high efficiency speakers as they tend to be the best in my book when it comes to unleashing the life and emotion in much recorded material.

I've been to both and had good and bad from both.
I just went to the gigs and enjoyed what was there at the time
Hmm, now you mention the venues makes me think of some outstanding gigs I went too

Most of the time there was no choice.
Unknown and lesser know bands play small venues, well know the big and huge ones.

Glad to say I've been to many magical gigs
Missed out on Hendrix and Cream, but not much else I wanted to see at the time.
So many festivals too, before they became mainstream

Best I've ever seen live was Bob Marley at the Glasgow Apollo circa 1980 just before he died, his charisma was astonishing, you could almost touch it.

Fantastic experience and a wonderful set of musicians.

Around the same time I went to the same venue to see Lou Reed who was complete shite and obviously wrecked on something or other.

Went to a lot of concerts back then, The Faces, Slade, The Rubbettes :mental:, Dire Straits, Simple Minds, U2, Haircut 100, AWB about 1974 I think and who were brilliant, Spandau Ballet and The Blue Nile when they opened the Glasgow Royal concert Hall circa 1994.

Highlights were the aforementioned Bob Marley, The Blue Nile and U2's Joshua Tree tour in 1987 at the SECCC in Glasgow.
