I’ve made good use of information on the forum and have now finally got round to signing-up.
My musical preferences are quite varied including classical, rock and artists that don’t fit into well defined categories. I don’t have any Jazz music though, as I’ve never heard anything that appealed. Adele and Dead can dance keep getting a regularly airing.
When I put my system together the idea was to build around the speakers (Yamaha NS 1000) plus valve amp, but I finally settled for a solid state Luxman amp. I had intended, and budgeted, to go the route of using computer based audio, but after hearing and comparing vinyl with CD I realised a turntable would be necessary and eventually settled for an eclipse turntable using a dynavector 10X5 cartridge. I also listen to flac files via the laptop for convenience.
