The 67 was much better. Must it be the 66?

I had the 66 for a couple of months and it played just beautifully. Ugly as sin imho, but the sound from that s1 crown...

I hate to spoil it, but on this chipset it's the digital filter chip that makes the sonics, according to engineers at Arcam anyway. The Crown means nothing to the sonics, but may measure a touch better...

The 66 can have things done to it if you're VERY good at working at surface mount level and if the mech is still working (Quad ran out years ago).. The 67 didn't need the add-on faff and sounded better for it on its own as I remember.
