Had a flying visit to Jonboy Friday

Also in attendance was Mike

Some lovely equipment , mostly Valves :stalks:

Listened to some streamed music through different pre and power amps ( custom built units :stalks: )
B&W DM2A's and some lovely baby Tannoys

Left my Quad 11's with Jon and Mike for rebuilding :D

I'm getting all excited that I may now at long last be able to use the quad11's and 57's rather than just look at them :D

Very enjoyable time spent with some gents who are a LOT more genned up on Hi Fi than me

Fair enough, but I do get a little frustrated with lots of 'visits to' threads not having any pics accompanying them. All that nice gear and no photos :(

Sorry I did not know that was a requirement when posting a visit topic

Certainly not, but it would be nice to see and by proxy thus experience some of what folks visiting others systems do. Its a personal frustration, nothing more and I am not getting at you in particular - sorry if you feel that way - but ask yourself the question have you ever read a visit post and there are no photos and wished that there were? If so that's all I am saying......

Thanks Dave, i have had them a long time but not really done much with them, fired them up a few weeks ago had to pull the tweeters apart to clean out some bits of grill foam just need to go through the crossovers when i get a minute and give them a bit of a clean not much to go wrong electrically in there really, they sounded a bit bright to start with but seem to be getting better with use, also seem to require a bit of grunt behind them to get the best from them, my home built Quad 405 thingy sounds good with them.

I am using a QUAD 306 to power mine just now. They have seen a few amps since I acquired them two years ago and they have never sounded so good or so at ease as they do powered by the QUAD :D

I think they sound very good, very much like the Rogers Cadet but with more punch and weight

Is that good? I've owned them both, and the Rogers HG88 and Quad IIs. None are a patch on the Leak Stereo 20. Sorry about that chaps (just my opinion). Must admit, I've never tried the Rogers Master power amp. I'd like to.
