Hi James,

No long at all, the Avondale stuff was all purchased as pre-constructed modules, they just needed wiring together.
So most of the work was drilling new mounting holes in the cases.
I suppose at a rough guess the pre-amp power supply to a couple of evenings, that included time waiting for the Matt black paint finish to dry.
The Power amp combo took about a week of evenings in total.

I moved gradualy from running a NAC 32.5 powered by the original NAP 160.
To 32.5 with it's own PSu - quite a good improvement.
To NAC 72 with the PSU and the original NAP 160 - did not notice much improvement.
To ripping guts out of NAP 160 and building the Avondale Power amp with it's own PSU - massive leap in enjoyment. That baby realy gets the best out of the Dynaudio's. Superb tight bass and stunning control, whereas the old Naim was very flabby.
Finally got the 821 boards for the NAC 72 - this also was a good choice, seemed to add yet another level of detail to everything.

Cheers,

Steve.
