The first change in my system for 25 years has now taken place!!:eek:

My beloved Leak Stereo20 now drives the Kef101s in the second bedroom.

I also collected my Pioneer PD S901 today to complete th ensemble.

It all sounds perfect again. The Firebottle OTL is extremely musical and the only real difference is a greater clarity and that the bass seems to go down another octave through the Quad 57s.

Comparing the two amps physically, brings on the Crocodile Dundee..."those aren't valves.... THESE are valves. Ginormous they are.

The only problem is that the Firebottle is somewhat larger than the Leak and I have to remove a shelf on the rack. It always bugged me that I couldn't move the shelves about on the Soundstyle.

I think I will have to make a new one in wood but still using the glass shelves from the Soundstyle. Might sound better anyway.
