Bragging rights don't go to me I'm afraid. I have a lot of gear but many on AOS will beat me hands down I expect.

Lets hear how extreme your collections are.

------------------------------------------------

Here's mine, or what I can find or remember I own.

Front end: Five turntables, four tonearms, at least twelve cartridges, three SUTs, one phono stage (I have two very good ones built into pre-amps). Three CD players, Two DACs, three jitters busting boxes, two valve buffers. One MD deck.

Amplification: Six pre-amps, four sets of power amps including monoblocks, three integrated amps.

Speakers: Four pairs, one sub, plus at least ten sets of bass or full range drivers, two pairs of midrange units, about ten pairs of tweeters and a couple of dozen various crossovers, etc.

Cables: Dozens of all sorts.

Other stuff: Boxes and boxes of components, books & brochures.

Tools & equipment for Hi-Fi use: Mountains!

I am remarkably free of hifi clutter these days having sold most of what I didn't want over the course of last year. Just a Delphonica Valhalla valve amp to shift and a couple of pairs of speakers to break down so I can sell the drive units and I will be left with just the kit I listen to, apart from a couple of bags of cables and bits and bobs which I may let go of too eventually ;)

Four turntables
Eight pick-up arms
At least a dozen cartridges
Three phono stages (cartridge equalisation amplifiers)
Four SUTs
Six tuners
Five preamps
Nine power amps
On active filter unit (Low-pass and High-pass)
Two CD players
Two casette players
Two reel-to-reel tape machines
Three pairs of speakers
Two mains conditioners
One RCM.

A Richard Allen fan? Is that a pair of CG12 and a pair of CG12T units I see? Tried them myself in the past, well made but a bit of an antique performance wise.

The speaker cables look rather similar to my Transparent jobbies.

CG10's and 10T's:) They are actually sitting on top of some Goodmans cabinets that contain a pair of tasty 201's.
The cables are MIT MH750. At present I prefer the MH750 to the QED XT400 that is also laying around somewhere:lol:

The music is all important obviously, but the Hi-Fi as an interest is just as valid and I'm saying this as somebody who was trained as a musician (when I was young). I would say I can see both sides of the argument, but there isn't one really.

At least I'm using some of it - 4 setups.

Yeah, shame you only have one of everything. Otherwise you could have called in on Firebottle and me on your trip through France, scattering spare hi-fi as you go.

Always open to help lighten the load. You could just say hello of course. Might even find some garlic and herbs to go with something.

I'm an addict, but not of the chemical kind fortunately apart from alcohol, which I can't afford to indulge these days thank heavens

I love music, but am also a gear addict too - but more the vintage decent stuff than the current highly priced bling sold by the likes of KJ W1 these days (heard that Ab Sounds Ricardo has a significant stake in HiFi News as well, which might explain a few things?).

I've got around seven turntables in various states of repair and loads of cartridges with which to feed them, now down to four tuners, three amps (although I've set my heart on getting "my" Quad amps back from exile ;)), a Denon three head/twin capstan cassette deck, a few video machines including a later Betamax and several pairs of speakers dotted around and about. Over the decades, I also lent stuff around and never got it back.

Oh yes indeedy. There are some local places that do it rather well, quite apart from that there is some rather good cognac and white fizz at about 6 euros a bottle that slips down rather well too:champagne:

I've sold almost everything now. Apart from my main and secondary systems, the garage stores one turntable, a preamp, two pairs of speakers and a regenerator.

Oh, and a two-thirds complete World Audio Design EL34 power amp that I must find a good home for.

Oh, oh, and tons of assorted cables!

SPS
19-05-2013, 22:09
I've got far too much stuff, about 15 years ago I sold a 124 and regretted it after a week, so I've sold very little since, there's about 25 decks about 40 cartridges, about 70 mostly pairs of assorted vintage drivers, about 15 valve amps in various states, about 10 pairs of speakers and enough valves to start a business, a few years ago there was over 10,000
And there's loads of related stuff, books transformers, chokes, valve bases etc... i really don't want to part with it

I know a guy who has that much high quality vintage kit in various stores and lock ups makes my stash look nothing...

Well , having checked the spreadsheet I use to keep track of such things, I appear to have:

20 Turntables
11 Arms
26 Cartridges
15 pairs of speakers (mostly big...)
3 Subwoofers
3 cassette decks
3 CD players
3 Tuners
3 Phono Stages
1 Disco Console
3 Radiograms
2 Receivers
8 Amplifiers
1 DAC
1 Integrated System
1 Laserdisc Player
2 toy record players!

And probably more stuff I've forgotten...

Sounds like I'm definitely not top -which is good news in some ways at least.
I have too much stuff I will never use again so must move it on
5 systems, 4 of which get daily use
We had the house extended in 2009.
Could do with more space for the hifi, LPs, reels and CDs, filing system for cables
and small bits ..........

Those Goodmans are gorgeous. I rate them alongside the Wharfedale RSDD Super 10s as being amongst my favourite British 60/70s full range drivers.

I have a couple of pairs of those 10 inch whafedales, I have one pair in my caravan, the larger magnet versions of the wharfdale range are all very good.
I have the super 3s/5/8/10/12 and rs15's all nice in their own way. And all good for open baffles...

I have a single of Phillips 10"that has a slightly better tone, along with the Whitley sentorian 816 that have a very nice tone...as they say.. the tone is in the cone...
I also have a pair of those cg10 and matching tweeters, I will have to give those a try one day

Cheers

Whitley sentorian 816 that have a very nice tone...as they say.. the tone is in the cone...

I bought a brand new pair of (old stock) HF1016 many years ago, but found them far too forward, as is common with high flux drivers of the era. Better suited to large reflex or horn enclosures. I didn't keep them, nor the 12" ones I also had. Worth a small fortune these days I dare say.

Always wanted to try Baker Laboratory Standard 12 units, but never could find a pair.

I'm waiting to try my recently purchased sixties 10" x 7" Isophon wide range drivers in cabinets, should be interesting. Tested them loose and efficiency seems high. (see thumbnail)

Sadly not. A couple of poxy Shures and a poxy DL103.

(I'm sure an EMT cartridge would only be an expensive disappointment compared to the Deccas anyway.)

Actually, just remembered, I also have a couple of the old Ortofon mono Tondose with the EMT, although I have never played them as they need rebuilding.
