No, but quite a lot lower than elsewhere.

I'm a bit torn on this one. I have very fond memories of my Hawkwind days - but, of course, I already have this album and don't really need it again (it never was a very special recording.

Dan:
Regardless of if you find it expensive i don't think you'll find it cheaper than that.

tbh ive never been so excited about anything for quite some time. however the amount of cutter people throw down the drain on say a length of Audiofoolery cable it should be a problem should it :eyebrows:

Yes Mark but i believe as it's taken from the master tapes the new vinyl edition should sound better than ever, i thought the latest King Crimson Re-issues just that, brilliant as an example.

'Warrior On The Edge Of Time' is one truly fantastic album imho..

Yeah, I don't disagree at all.

However, what I really want is that Thirteenth Floor Elevators box set that they have (Burning Shed). It's probably too 60's for you, but even more than Hammill (I've got a lot of Hammill on vinyl but I would buy everything if he would only release it!) and Hawkwind, I love The Velvet Underground and this is their roots (in some ways) - proper pschedelia!

Oh, bollocks to it - I'm gonna buy both!

Yep, I am with you on that Andre. Its always been one of my favourite albums, if only for the first bass line of the album, and the single violin note that follows a few minutes later.

And while it will be a pale shadow of the original, I plan of seeing whats left of them play the album live at least once (Shepherds Bush), maybe twice (Holmfirth).

I'm with you 100% there - this really is the most remarkable golden age for vinyl - buy it now - don't waste your money on audio jewellery.

Hi Mark
How do you mean too 60's for you! Most of my collection is made up of 60's Psych, i listern to more Psych than Prog tbh, my main prog listrnings is generally the crossover period from Psych into Prog...

Well id love fresh Fuzzy edition's of Peter Hammill 'Foolsmate', 'Chameleon In The Shadow Of The Night' & 'Silent Corner, Empty Stage'..

Again i can't wait for 'Warrior On The Edge' that will complete all brand new Hawkwind Re-Issues on Vinyl up to 'Warriors' :yay:

Sorry, i probably don't pay sufficient attention to forum members profiles as I should - I rather thought you were all prog.

No doubt you are aware of the elevators box set - which genuinely does appear to be a bit special.

I have those Hammill albums - but would love high quality reissues. Even more, I would like vinyl issues of his work that have only ever been released on poxy CD.

It's probably not your thing, but I'm listening to the absolutely excellent Antony and the Johnsons live album 'Cut The World' at the minute - superb

Having just listened to Warrior - it was fantastic - but I don't need a box set of it - not as much as I need the Elevators...

Hi Mark
Yeh i saw it on Amazon £100.00 i think the set is..

The 'Warriors' i have is a 2nd Edition on U Artists..sounds good enough but im sure the new one will be better, besides i liked the two Emerson Lake & Palmer albums steve Wilson performed his magic on, im sure his work on this set will be just as good..

Further to comments elsewhere I think that I may go for the 3 CD/DVD set as at a shade over £20 on the big A it is good value.

I've brought the 3CD set of this. S'funny hearing this album in micro-detail on CD for me. I like the burst of noise/mush that comes when the mic opens on 'The Wizzard Blew his Horn' vocal on disc1.

Thats not an 'effect', thats noise! Aaahhh, progress! :)

EDIT. The Steven Wilson (disc 2) doesn't have the noise.

That boxed set looks the biz, Andr'e. I have an original gatefold (A1/B1 stampers) pressing so I'll be keeping that :)

Hi Martin
I have an original & a 2nd issue too but prefer the SQ of this one. However im not 100% on the sleeve quality but at least my OCD is happy being new new new :eyebrows:
