OK you serious technologists out there, what do we know of the advanced cantilever and diamond needle mounting technology of the Technics P205C Mk3 ?

I seem to remember that the cantilever technology used was so advanced that it has not been matched since, but also not repeated by Technics. This cartridge used to punch way above its weight and also sound exceptional.

I'm willing to invest some time (and money) in restoring a sample to its original level, or as damn near as we can get to it. Have a look at a sample I've got please. Is it worth having a go re-tipping it or do I look for a better candidate?

From another angle it looks more promising. At what VTF did these babies track?

Do we have enough photographic information here to conclude anything???

Mike

Have a word with Dominic at Northwest Analogue.
Failing that get an ADC 10E Mk.IV.

A legend in their own lifetime, those. I always fancied trying one - and had a long-standing order with one of the small hifi stores of yore on Totty Court Road (remember those days - bloody great Lasky's, lots of others, many selling real hifi .... ah, me) but they never managed to get one for me. :(

memories for sure, used to love TCR, got most of my HIFi gear there in the 70's 80's nd PC stuff in the 90's
Still using my TD160 i got from there 30 odd years ago ( good old days when you could ask How much for cash !) :)
