Now were talking... :)
Both those scores by Hans Zimmer, some more of his worth checking out:

Gladiator
Batman Begins
Dark Knight
Crimson Tide
Thin Red Line

he's doing the soundtrack for the new Superman movie, sounds fantastic.

I guess it depends what you want from a soundtrack - I've got quite a few which are a collection of hits used in the movie, (some favourites being Kill Bill 1 & 2, Pulp Fiction, Forest Gump and Platoon) and then you have a score written specifically for the film - my favourite of which would have to be Gladiator.

Anything by Ry Cooder and there are plenty
Almost anything by Gustavo Santaolalla, particularly The Motorcycle Diaries
Underworld and Gabriel Yared - Breaking and Entering
I also have others but can't remember what they are !

My choices are song based OSTs, rather than specifically composed scores.

O Brother, Where Art Thou - (Americana and Bluegrass, produced by T Bone Burnett)

Crazy Heart - ( Some cracking C&W originals and covers)

One From The Heart - (beautiful contrasting voices and sweet harmonies between Tom Waits and Crystal Gale)

Cheers
John

Another of my favourites is Ryuichi Sakamoto - especially Merry Christmas Mr Lawrence.

Tron: Legacy by Daft Punk is pretty good too, although a lot of the tracks on both these are quite short, so I find it a bit "staccato" to listen to them
