So do any of you peeps use the above site?

I have been using this website for a few years and have added the majority of my collection (quite a laborious task).

Below I think it will take you to my collection (if anyone is interested :)) - oh and please don't laugh too much ;)

Paul,

I use Discogs (http://www.discogs.com/). Not sure if you have come across this site, but it's very easy to add your collection, just key in the code (or barcode if it has one) on the LP / CD and Bob is your father's brother.

The rating system is similar. It would be interesting to see how the membership numbers compare for the two sites.

Some of the reviews on Discogs are extremely well written, plus you can get an idea of what the value of individual items is, from the lowest to the highest asking price.

I use Last.fm (http://www.last.fm/community), nothing simpler as everytime I play an album it lists it as part of my collection. However, you have to be file based for it to work, so not for everyone (and not many on AoS to be fair). Going over 100% to file based audio and joining Last.fm are two of the best thing's I have ever done musically and I'm a massive fan of scrobbling now. Great for discovery too, as you can browse through peoples music library who play the same music as you do - brilliant :D

Just had a look at its user stats, over 500,000 scrobbles in the last hour on Last.fm and 89 million scrobbles during the last week!

Yep, I'm also a big last FM fan and have scrobbling set up on every computer I go near. Occasionally listen to recommended radio. Just wish the sound quality was a bit better and it might become a proper source for my tunes. If you wanted to find me on there PM and I'll add you to my neighbourhood.

I created an account on Discogs today and have started adding my albums;

Comments so far - it appears to take a lot longer to add albums and I cannot understand how the album ordering works, it doesn't seem to easily allow you to put them in alphabetical order, could be that I am new to the program but is a little frustrating at the moment :scratch:

If you go to My Collection you can click on the column headings to sort - by artist, title, date added, etc.

What process are you using to add items?

First saw it some years ago, but never got around to using it.
Must find time to revisit
