View Full Version : Inter-site shenanigans

Some members are using this site as a means of sniping at other sites, and I (and a couple of others) are the only ones to see it. In fact, we are being threatened with week bans for pointing this out.
Each post I make has had some element of 'leave each other alone' to it, but it seems my comments are seen as antagonistic. I guess I'm wasting my time, and this site is in fact a tool for someone to have a personal slanging match with the other guy (who is no better either).
I have 'met' some good guys on here that have not been tarnished with this stupidity, but some just revel in it.

If this comment is worth a weeks ban, see you in a week.

Get some time under your belt and you'll see what I mean.

That is a funny looking lad, Scottish I'd guess.

The best thing about the interweb is the right to reply, removed with a warning on the thread I was referring to. I dont take it seriously in any respect though, especially this part of it. Life is too short.

Myles, if you want to make such comments (pointing out what you consider as sniping), then this is the area of the forum to do it, NOT on someone's sales thread. I trust that you appreciate the difference, which is why you were threatened with a week's ban for thread crapping on someone's sales ad.

Did you read this warning prior to posting your remarks on Bev's thread:

http://theartofsound.net/forum/showthread.php?t=13935

The same rules apply in the private sales area, in that the only acceptable comments on someone's sales thread are people making queries with a view to buying the item(s) for sale - NOTHING ELSE. Therefore, you'll appreciate the reason why your off-topic comments on Bev's sales thread were moderated.

Expressing your opinion on the matter here in Critic's Corner, however, is an entirely different thing, and something that you're free to do. I trust that this clears up the confusion.

Marco.

Myles, I hope you appreciate that the very presence of this area of the forum does give you the right to vent your feelings, and we won't remove comments unless they represent a direct attack on someone. Sales thread crapping is not cool, but we do welcome your opinions elsewhere.

Life is less than perfect Myles. I've never bothered with forums previously as I just didn't want to be bothered with the personal stuff I expected to see.

You could choose to leave Myles, but where else would you find an Audio Al? I ask you Myles, where else?

I know, its the terrible load I wear round my neck, lose the Audio Al input or stay and watch the the little war roll on with no end in sight.

I do wonder if anyone has had a look to see if I am posting on the 'other side'? I bet someone has.......

Al, the car boot is a good idea. Ill see if there are any BH Monday events to spend my pennies at.

What's an Argentinian Subplatter?

That is a very good question. It is a subplatter made for the Rega TTs buy a guy in Argentina. On first impressions, it makes a difference too!

Alan,
I've removed your provocative
remarks, which were over the top and unnecessary.

Just to acknowledge I have read your post. It's your site you run it as you see fit.

"Inter-site shenanigans" That certainly sounds like things could get sexual. Better nip that in the bud before love children start poppin' out everywhere singing "Kum ba yah". :nono: Can't have that.

Martin / Marco,

In my ignorance, I failed to read all of the Forum rules and made a few less than savoury comments about an individuals proposed sale of Exposure amplification on the Private Sales section a while back.

I noticed that my comments had been removed and hadn't really thought much further on the subject until I read this, so I just wanted to say sorry to you guys for breaking the rules on that occasion, hindsight is a great thing but on this occasion, I really should have read the rules first, my apologies.

Paul.
