What happens if you play a mono LP with a stereo cartridge ?

Will it still play OK or will it cause damage to the record / Styli ( thingy ) :)

I have some mono LP's and wanted to play them so any advice please :)

Don't worry Al - everything will be fine. I've been playing mono recordings with a stereo cartridge for over forty years.

Some "mono only" fans deliberately choose to use a monophonic cartridge as the latter will not respond to any vertical modulation and hence to any rumble your deck might have.

You mean you haven't played that copy of Please Please Me yet? Most of The Beatles stuff is much better in mono!
