Dodgy ebay Deal

Recently sold some IXOS Ixotica interconnects on flea-bay to ebayer nite2000, cables arrived 'damaged' and he's been raving that I send damaged product and lie on purpose and demands a refund.

All product was fully tested and inspected prior to despatch and was fine but buyer will not believe one word of that even though I detailed my inspection and test procedures.

Items I suspect were held up in Customs and were possibly damaged there or the buyer damaged them upon receipt. Bad thing is that he has hit me with a negative feedback on each transaction ruining my 100% record.

Have reported it to flea-bay but they often prove they have no idea about resolving disputes lol.

Just thought I would warn anyone contemplating selling to this user: nite2000, he's in Russia by the way,...no comment!

How does he prove they are damaged?? Photos?
As a way of getting his money back and therefore free leads, I can understand it but why would he damage them??

I sell quite a lot on eBay [15-30 items per month.] I send to other countries all the time without any problems, buyers are 9 times out of 10 really nice genuine people but not a month goes by without a dispute being opened against me by a UK buyer who are 9 times out of 10 complete numpties that want to nick your goods/rip you off/scam you somehow or just enjoy complaining about everything.

Given the choice I prefer selling to overseas customers... I've sent to France,Germany,Italy,Spain,Portugal,Poland,Hungary ,Lithuania,Finland,Russia,Taiwan, & Japan with only one fraud/theft issue to date.

Oh & OP: Don't worry about one negative feedback, leave a reply to it explaining unreasonable buyer for other potential buyers to see... Negative feedbacks are void after 12 months so you'll be back to 100% this time next year ;)

How the hell can you deal with returns or fraudulent retractions of PayPal payments.

I'm dealing with a dodgy customer now, who was sent an immaculate camera in perfect order and left me positive feedback saying they loved it. Only to want to send it back for a refund two weeks later, saying it doesn't work since taking it on holiday. Bet it's been dropped or got wet. At least they can't leave bad feedback now!

I'm located in Hungary and for her not being the Land Of Hi-Fi (with the exception of the just-rising Heed fame) I am 'forced' to buy from overseas, e.g. the U.K. thus, I wonder how would you feel were you in the love of music and its reproduction, also in the know of the U.K. where the finest of hi-fi gear is produced, but had no way to buy from there?
also, I once sold a pair of NOS Mission tweeters to a British guy, who days after receipt just left a negative feedback with no comms preceding at all, in which stated the tweeters were faulty - which definitely was not the case. what the case really was was that he had thought said tweeters would fit his speakers, and when they arrived did he realise only that they wouldn't. after having noticed that I had been given a negative and, consequently, sent him several messages it turned out, even confirmed by Mission themselves, that he had bought the wrong model tweeters for his speakers in mistake - but in spite even this he, although asked many times, did not withdraw the negative, about which I started a dispute with eBay involved, but as they cared about it not at all, my rating stayed as such for a year, ruining my 100% rep. now it's restored, but was quite annoying for I did not earn it.
BUT I won't say I will not sell anything to the U.K. for one fool...

Same thing happened to me,but I called Ebay and told them about the positive feedback etc. and explained that I had no control over how the buyer treated it after he left the feedback and they found on my behalf when he opened a dispute....he would have tested it before leaving the feedback...that's the big problem about the length of time allowed to complain...its being used as some kind of warranty or tryout by some ebayers

I requested the buyer return of the camera for assessment by a professional camera repairer for misuse or water damage and suggested that if there was evidence of the camera being abused, I'd claim the cost of the inspection and any money refunded to him by eBay via the small claims court.

The dispute against me was promptly dropped and the funds which eBay/PayPal had frozen were released!

I must admit I didn't realise it was possible to raise a dispute after leaving positive feedback!

OMG - eBay just gets riskier and riskier. :(
