Hi andy, they are lovely looking things and have nice real wood veneer ,sound wise they're going from a bit ropey to ooh that's nice!!! So all being well they'll end up at the latter with more hours under their belt. Apparently they're Chinese built, though designed in blighty these days:)

Yeah its unfortunate that Castle are no longer built by skilled cabinet makers in Skipton.

Yes , a " made in uk " label would be nice, but I can't fault the build quality

Ah, interesting. I didn't know that Castle were back, albeit made in China.
Interesting indeed but good to see them back. They used to make some really great speakers back in the day.

Was the return of Castle not something to do with Auido-T, a distribution deal or something?

well the castles seem to have settled in now and i love em. plenty of detail, bass isnt window shaking but plenty for my room and its nice and clean, not at all lumpy or woolly. above all theyre very easy to listen to, be it music ,film or tv. i think they would benefit from a change of amp though,;)oh ek more pennies!!
Nice looking speakers James. My first ever new pair of speakers were Castle Chesters back when they were first launched and they sort of look similar although I'm guessing that what castle now describe as "Floor T Line" is a form of transmission line rather than their 1/4 wave bass loading? Specs look impressive for a box of that size. I hope they give you lots of enjoyment.

Hi Paul, these are indeed a quarter wave design, a first for me. Love em

Had a pair of Harlechs in the past. Stunning build quality and great sound. Never seen such good quailty cabinet work on a speaker like the Harlechs had.

apparently all drivers/tweeters are designed in-house. these speakers just keep getting better:) my humble set up sounds really great to me now, an amp with a tad more sparkle and i'll be happy, honest i will:lol:
