Dual 1219 Turntable, no plinth!

Selling a fairly rare Dual 1219 idler drive turntable, heavy & solid German engineering, complete and working. I've never used it, but it all seems to operate correctly, has a good platter main bearing and the huge motor runs nice and quiet, the idler wheel is good. It is in good condition but not mint. The cartridge carrier is present, but the Shure M91-GD cartridge is missing the stylus (N91 ED should fit, or use another cartridge). It comes with a handful of accessories for multi play etc and I have the plinth top plate/board which may help in mounting the TT. Not many of these about, the 1229 is more common and does share some components.

It's GOOD!!! Superbly engineered and the arm should easily track anything from an ADC XLM/26/Shure V15 II or III to a solid moving coil (my related 701 arm has been used well with a Supex 900E, Ortofon MC30 Super and AT OC9) Microphonic carts like the Goldring MC's and others should be avoided.

As long as the motor is well isolated on its mounting bushes with the cables looped and dressed to not impede it, the deck is pretty rumble free, a very quiet whine through the speakers with the volume turned up to deafening levels being the only real trace of noise (Lenco's are similar in idler noise and level of this, so that should give an idea). A cheap cork mat on top of the existing one should improve sonics too and having the arm set slightly down at the back as a result when set for manual single-record operation never did any harm IMO.

Finally, the 1229 had an illuminated strobe, but I think was pretty well the same otherwise.
