i've not been able to get on the forum for a while
and have missed reading the posts.
so anything new in the world of hifi?

i got a naim nap92 pre amp to go with my naim nac90
wow, what a difference(to my ears) it makes over my last non naim pre.
the phono stage in it sounds pretty dire so using a unbranded battery one for now which sounds alot better.
i would have though the naim phono boards would sound nice so maybe they are not working right, just a very unclear sound.
the sound you would get if you put cotton wool in your ears.

That's not the way Naim phono boards sound. Are you, maybe, using a MM cartridge into MC boards ?

What is the system ?

my cartridge is mm so i thought if the phono boards are mc i would not get any sound?
i may ask a friend if he has a mc cartridge so i can test it on my tt.

You'll still get sound but it will be very odd and distorted.

Yep, dull, fat and distorted.

If you have a look at the phono plug in PCBs, they will signify MM or MC.
