Turns out this isn't a chameleon but a version 4 Teradak with the 8 TDA1543 parallel chips.

EDIT - typed this is hurry earlier, on reading back it sounds a bit snotty, which it wasn't meant to. Johns original link in post one is accurate, the chameleon is £340 delivered, so a more expensive unit. To confirm ... selling because I have far too much kit and it's time to get a grip as opposed to any issue with the Teradak, or John for that matter!

I have the chameleon, the later one with the coupling caps, i think its really good. On my system i can easily hear the greyness of the majority of the op amp Dac's so on my system its very clean. So much so that I'm looking for another for my second system. The main issue for me is the automatic switching of the source, when used with a cd player there is always a click on changing cds, there is probably a fix, but not really pursued that,
i have been thinking of installing a pair of gardner transformers on the output as i hear there is some gains to be had there too

The interest in this product started with TeraDak’s earlier USB DAC, the Valab DAC. The modifiers on HeadFi.org tricked out the Valab DAC to a fare-thee-well, so much so that the parent company decided to start marketing their own DAC, the TeraDak Chameleon. It incorporates some of these mods, upping the ante to sixteen paralleled TDA1543 DAC chips and actually making it modification-friendly by: 1) creating a larger space to replace their stock 10uF Wima output coupling caps and 2) supplying empty holes in the circuit board beside the TDA1543 chips for insertion of upgraded decoupling caps (e.g. Black Gate 47 uF/16 volt electrolytic caps) for the chips. The Chameleon name was chosen because of the ‘modular’ design which allows users to modify it and change the sound to their liking.
