Statistics - help!!!!

This is a very long shot but is anyone in the forum any good with statistics, parametric and non-parametric testing of variables. I could sure do with some help if anyone has a grasp on these!!

It's a bit long and no it's not secret. I'm trying to find correlations between two variables and I have no idea if I need to use parametric or parametric stats. I have made a stab at what I think I need to go. I have done a priori calculation to define population size and it has a high level of power so I'm happy with that's. I'm ok using descriptive stats they are easy enough. My other concerns are to check for within sample normality between subjects and the effects of time (before and after an operation). Hope this make some sense.
