A thing of beauty IMO (and has a boy for ever, as they say ;) ), but I've never had one or even seriously wanted one (when sober :) ). My elder brother had one when I was much younger, a Vincent Black Shadow IIRC and he used to take me for rides, first sat on the tank and later on the pillion seat, scaring me half to death when he banked it round corners. I managed to get a car whilst quite young and no further interest in bikes.
But I can and do admire bikes like that, beautiful!!

Even though I have a body more suited to comfort rather than speed I am a huge fan of Buell, but Unfortunately I do not have a Buell sized wallet... :eyebrows:

Suzuki GS500 FK4, It was far more fun than I expected, good handling and cheap to run. More than enough poke for everyday use. Nice bike!
I haven't had a bike for a year or two and the itch is setting in. I keep looking at the Suzuki SV1000S. It's compact, light and has a very punchy and reliable motor. 150mph+ and 60 in 2.9 secs may be adequate. We'll see.

Currently in negotiations with "the management" to get it recommissioned - even though I have no no claims bonus as it expired, the best quote I got TPF&T incl business use was only £75 - £57 Tax, and £30 for an MOT makes it not too costly. :)

I've always had what one might call a 'quiet appreciation' of Milwaukee's finest, and have owned a few in my time. The only real downside (and I'm not talking of their dynamic prowess - if you want a quick bike, buy one) was the constant need for keeping them clean or they just rot, almost before your eyes. There's even a disclaimer when buying a new one which states that 'you will not be allowed to make warranty claims for corrosion'. :rolleyes:
Still, I really enjoyed mine - from a couple of Sportsters to an FXDXi Dyna Sport (the last one imported to the UK in fact) and a VRSCR Streetrod. If I was flush enough to own 2 bikes now, one would probably be a Harley for bimbling around on and making some noise. :)

Actually, that Dyna Sport was bloody quick off the mark (1550cc big bore, stage 3 cams, big valve heads, Vance & Hines 2-1) and up to 60 was quicker than a GSXR600. Sounded incredible too.
The Steetrod? An absolute peach of an engine, hampered by too much weight - the bike handled well, and the (Brembo) brakes were superb - when the discs weren't warping. Just drank fuel and oil when given a thrashing, which the engine loved to be fair. About as quick as a 1200 Bandit.

Yes, lovely! Ohlins and Brembo just look so good together! I met Colin Edwards once about 15 years ago, at a dealer sponsored event (when he was riding for Castrol Honda in WSBK) nice bloke, and sad to see him trailing round at the back in CRT Moto GP now.

It is a sad sight but he still enjoys his racing and I don't think he's as racing career focussed as just out to enjoy the sport these days. he seems to spend loads of time running his biking boot camp which looks like a laugh!
Part of the purchase price on the Edwards when it was new included tickets to spend a weekend at Colin's Texas ranch and have personal tuition around his private race track. As I bought the bike a few years old, sadly I didn't get the chance to do that!
