Guys,

Just thought I'd let those of you know, who are fans of this superb budget MC cartridge, that it's available once again through Needle Doctor (for $139):

As they say, 'Hurry hurry, Mrs Murray'!! :exactly:

Just wondering here but I have a second hand DL-110 that I've had for about two years, I'm now noticing noise on my vinyl like clicks and pops and groove noise (between tracks).

Is this a sign that the Denon is getting to the end of it's life or are my records just shite?

I used to own a DL160 but it was nowhere near as good as my Ortofon OM-30 Super so I sold it.

Which records are affected?

I bought a load of SH vinyl the other week which was described as in very good condition and some near mint but half of them sounded terrible but I'm now not sure whether the Denon is the culprit.

I've not really played some of my records that I know are in good condition for a wee while so the recent purchases might well be just crap.

Just wondering if a cart near the end of it's life makes the noise on the records more noticeable.

try giving them a clean tony with a RCM record cleaning machine
unless its bad groove damage
or pop by if you don,t own one and i give them a clean on my VPI1 6.5 RCM if you want
best £70 you will ever spend - like a spin clean RCM

I wasn't aware that the DL110 ever went away as I bought a new one less than a year ago. The DL160 is the one that hasn't been available for a while now. I bought my 110 from an Ebay seller called 2Juki who deals in carts obtained directly from the Japanese factories. Check him out as he often has some stellar bargains (Shelter 5000 for £800 anyone?). Import taxes apply, so be aware.

I checked my sent mails and there's no copy there either. Maybe I'm losing my mind!

Denon used to make cartridges in batches and UK ordering by the importers usually took two to three months to deliver. If the importers ran out early, then there would be a wait until the next batch became available to ship. Always a tricky thing, supply and demand balancing..

DL110 also available here (http://www.powerdirect.co.uk/product/DENON-DL110-High-Output-Moving-Coil-Cartridge?gclid=CP-ClJut2bYCFfQetAodonYAxw), it seems, with no duty or tax to pay. .
