Very nice! I must get my 760iSE's out of the loft sometime. A great sounding "quart out of a pint pot". Heavy open frame stands such as yours can get the best out of them.
Looks lovely, Jason - always promised myself a Corbusier Chaise when I have the room for it. :)

Jason, I found that taking the gel pads from my stands was a large improvement in terms of sq, have you tried that?

Thanks Rob I forgot to put these are the 780se's but your right a good set os stands brings out the best in them:)
I don't think they're gel pads are they? They look to me like the RS style clear 3mm thick bump-on feet, which are rigid enough and when we compared to the cabinet lethal top spikes, couldn't hear any difference at the time...
Nice room with some good looking bit and bob's.

Thanks Alex its a great chair I've had it 15 yrs now and sat in it every day or just about, and it still looks as good today:cool:
Yes they are more hard than soft, these I think if I remember are the Atacama ones about £15 a set of 8. I will give them ago without and report back ;)

Sorry, whatever they're called I just preferred them out of the equation, of course YMMV but I wished I'd got rid of them about a year earlier
Nice looking setup though!

Did you mean the Maxell ad this ad is the reason I own this furniture, loved the ad as a kid:)

LoL Cheers Mike glad you like it ;)
Respect, Jason. That is a very cool room! :)
Very 'modern meets retro', and successfully so, too. I love your furniture and how the room is decorated, particularly how splashes of colour have been cleverly introduced into a stark aesthetic, with the bright curtains, ornaments on the shelves (and the very cool clock) - love it....
Is it your good lady's work or yours? Oh, and where do the action men live? :eyebrows:
Marco.

To be honest I've never heard any speakers on these stands without the pads or blue tack on them in the 4 yrs I've owned them, so looking forward now to having a listen without :)
Cheers Martin;)

Thanks Marco glad you like it mate:) I will have to let my good lady take the credit for the colour in the room it's all her doing. All the black and chrome is my doing:eyebrows: so I think we hit a good middle ground:) I was thinking about moving one of the chairs out to give a bit more space but I can never choose:lol:
PS the action men are living in the spare room but I know they come out in the night:lol: this one was photographed late at night in the bed room

I could go to town with some witty little quip-ettes about that place, shweety, but I'll let you off!
Marco.
Best not pollute poor Jason's thread any further - but I can imagine!
Nice one Jason; really, really nice!
Does Mission still make those "Stance" stands? Remember they were very cool looking.
Thanks John glad you like the cave mate ;)
Hi guys there's a problem in the man cave:scratch: I have noticed a hum coming from my speakers its a very low hum and you need to be right next to the speaker with your ear to hear it. When I turn the volume on the amp the hum doesn't get any louder. I just wondered if this is normal coming from this amp:scratch:
Cheers
Jason;)
Any help or advice would be great:) just don't want to take it into sugden for a check up and be charged if there's nothing wrong:)
Hi Jason, most electronic devices have some form of hum/hiss, either mechanichal or electrical.
I would try and relocate all involved items to make sure that it's not induced from cable placement or similar.
Of course, keep thing simple and with only the needed culprits connected at the moment.
If the amp produces the hum on it's own, when well away from other electronic devices, i'd try and compare it with a similar amp.
But it doesn't seem to be big issue, as you need to lean up against the speker to hear it?
Just sit back, nd enjoy the music?
Best regards //Mike
do you have anything connected to the amp?
Just thought of another possible culprit!
If you have the audio from the TV set connected, make very sure the antenna is galvanically isolated from your HiFi!!!
That can cause some serious hum, particularly if you're on a cable net?
Regards Mike

Thanks for the info Mike i'll give this ago as I do have quite a few other wires from the tv around.
Cheers
Jason.

Hi Grant thanks for the reply I just have the dock plugged in at the moment but I'll try in without.
Cheers

Beautiful room and furniture - you have very good taste. Oh yes nice system too and have you tried blue tack under the speakers?
Regards Neil
Thanks guys glad yo u like it:) I've used it in the past but the girlfriend didn't like the look of it:(. To be honest Neil I forget the difference between the blue tack and the pads I have under them now, do you rate the blue tack over the pads? I also use the same pads under the stands instead of spikes. I lost the spikes when I moved house and ended up sticking the pads under as a replacement but I think its time I invested in some new spikes.

It used to be possible to get black tack. I think - if I recall right - blu tack sounded better under those Mission's than spikes etc (some stands at the time allowed you to put the speakers on spikes) but different system different room etc so worth trying. If the stands are not spiked then doing that and thus getting them level and rock solid will make a big difference to the sound.
Among the best spikes out there, available in different threads/diameters are the ones from Track audio http://www.trackaudio.co.uk/floor/floor.html
Contact Purite Audio an AOS member as he sells them, not cheap but very good.
Regards Neil
Thanks for the info Neil spikes are now on my list:);)
