Hi everyone, name's Darren... Now where to begin...

My dad got me into Hi-Fi when I was about 9 or 10. We used to go for a browse in the hi-fi shops in town every few months together. At this point he had a NAD 3120/DualCS505-2 (Both still work!). My first system was a Cambridge Audio A1Mk3, Ariston CDX-910 and Ariston Micro Monitors - All Richer-Sounds-Specials! For about 6 or 7 years after that, everything was hand-downs from my dad, Cyrus 1 integrated, TDL nucleus 4s and a good few more. I started paying for my own kit at about 15 or so and got my hands on an Audiolab 8000A and a pair of Mission 782s. I've been through a plethora of gear since then and I currently have a Musical Fidelity A3 integrated with Mordaunt Short MS90is. I have a pair of B&W Nautilus 802s in transit to me right now :), so excited to get them. The Mordaunt Shorts were just lying about so I thought I'd use them in the meantime. I'm planning to replace the A3 with a NU-Vista at some point this year too. Headphone wise I'm using Shure SE425s whilst on the go and Sennheiser HD650s at home. No headphone amp as of yet, I had a Dacmagic+ but I returned it as I just didn't think it cut the mustard with the 650s.

Anyway, that's a brief history :).

Hi Darren.

There's a lot of folk on AOS from Glasgowshire so welcome aboard mate.
Its not all about having the "best" hifi, the music is what matters. :)

That's why we are all here!

Get in and enjoy, lots of like minded people here. :)

Hello Darren and welcome to AoS. Will the A3 drive the 802s sufficiently well?

Hello Darren and welcome to AoS. Will the A3 drive the 802s sufficiently well?

Should do at low volumes, it's actually more gutsy than many give it credit for.

Audioemotion in Fife have just got a Tri-Vista in right as I've run out of money . Would do some seriously nasty things to get a hold of that right now!

Thanks for the welcomes everyone :).
