Thought I would offer it here before eBay...
My long serving "back up" CD player in well used condition, it does have a few battle scars but they are purely cosmetic nothings loose/broken...
It was top of Sony's "normal" range between 1988-1990 & its basically a 228ESD with a plastic fascia instead of aluminium :rolleyes: has a motorised variable out/headphone jack, used twin BurrBrown PCM56P DAC's and sounds bloody good to boot!
Every electrolytic was replaced around 14 months ago with a right old mixture consisting of BHC Aerovox 2x10000uf for the PSU, Panasonic FC/FM, Nichicon Muse, Nippon-Chemicon, Elna Cerafine & the output coupling caps have been changed for Vishay BC film.
The lense has been cleaned, the sled rails have been cleaned & re-lubed... It reads TOC in around 1-2 seconds, never skips & will even play CD-R's :D Comes with a Sony remote but its not the original, stock feet have been replaced with isopods...
