I can never make these pictures work. And when they do - I don't know why.

Nice one Al

I had one some years back and really enjoyed it. It was a very smooth performer, really very good for the money. Lacked a little of the bass attack that the Dynavector DV20 I replaced it with had, but it was overall a nicely balanced decent sounding cartridge.

As some of you may be aware, I have both of these in my collection.

I like the Goldring, but I'd be heartbroken to lose the ADC.

The older version with the silver body was better IMO - should still sound good if not knackered though. The cognescenti always slag of the Eroica but I have no idea why. It is a good all round cart, even does rock music well unlike some MCs

Martin I listened to this for a considerable time at the WW show it sounded AMAZING in the system that Freefallrob and Radical had on demo
I am trying to reproduce this sound

I was blown away

Yep - in particular it will reproduce cymbals better than any CD player, you get that real 'fillagree detail'

I've had a couple of 'em over the years, still got one but I've not used it in about a decade as my records were in bad shape back then and I gave up playing vinyl almost entirely.

I missed Scalford this year but in 2012 Rob and Radical had one of the best sounds of the show. They know their onions.

On behalf of Rob aka Freefallrob too===Thanks for the comments =its always good to know we made happiness and from little outlay. Our previous shows taught us that visitors wanted mainly mainstream music with solid bass rhythm and cleanly dynamic. We spent much time mixing/matching our possessions to that specific end and at below £2000 allin.
Eroica needed special attention to deliver big dynamic bass you heard-exact groove position and weighting/bias[passed torture grooves on testrecord] Alignment is Stevenson- clamp[felted underneath] hard mat[5mm acrylic [sitting inside platters raised lip and not touching label] vaselined on[reduces slip].
Some other minor [but cumulative ]mods to deck/arm.
Will gladly offer clues Al[and others] ---if need felt.

Have you tried the ADC yet Mike? I have two of these and a Mk.II, they sound superb in my system.
