I think I stumbled upon this site after doing a Google search for at33ptg.

I'm sort of a half-assed audiophile. I don't subscribe to any of the magazines, I have no interest in cables, and I gave up my big tube amps when the kid arrived and I never bothered to replace them. Now I'm using Emotiva amps and Maggies in one system, and an Onkyo 9555 and KEF LS50s in the other. Digital streams through a Squeezebox Touch into a Audio-Gd DAC. Analog is either a Well-Tempered Simplex or a Pioneer PL-L1000 for when I'm feeling lazy/drunk.

Sounds like a great philosophy to me!

What sort of half-assed music do you like? ;) Welcome, and hope you enjoy AoS. :)

Welcome to AoS, I've been drinking in LA a few times...

I always thought the emotiva stuff looked well rugged but those shiny blue LEDs would drive me barmy.... which power amps you using?

The amp is the XPA-2 which is 500 watts into 4ohms, and the Magnepan MMGs can light up those blue power LEDs, too. Fortunately the Emotiva LEDs are diffused behind some plastic, so they don't have the laser-beam-in-the-eye effect that a lot of LEDs have.
